Happy Valentine's Day ladies

Gwen arrived on the second floor landing to hear several voices. Only two she recognized. Her daughter and Lady Casandra's. She was quiet as she waited. There was another half naked man there. Why were they walking around the inn topless. She moved closer to Emilia. and smiled at her.

"You look very pretty tonight."

Madeline smiled when she saw Emilia, and nodded, "Yeah this is very promising."

Madeline hugged Cas back. "Don't be nervous, You'll be fine."

Madeline sensed a familar presence walking up to her, and grinned great big. "Fancy seeing you here as well Kyra. Nice dress. So umm what do ya think of the decerations walking around here."

Once they had used the excuse to go out with Juliet to take Dia out before the party. They gave the man at the door thier names and moved to wiat over with Juliet giving the other ladies bright smiles and hellos as the waited.

A second half naked male walked out of the ballroom. He gave a nod to the man who had been waiting at the door. They each grabbed a door handle and opened the door to admit the first lady who had arrived.

The man inside announced her as she walked in. "Miss Madeline Cauthon, daughter of Sir Gawain Cauthon." Andrew walked up to her and handed her a gift bag. He offered her his arm so he could escort her.

He walked her to their table and held her chair for her to sit down. He leaned over and kissed her cheek before he took his own seat. Another man came by the table. "Do you have a Birthday gift for Lady Inion?"

As Maddie and Andrew were being tended to, the next lady was being let in and announced. "Goddess Emilia Tyson, daughter of Eros, the God of Love, Lust, and Fertility." The man couldn't keep help but stare.

Jimmy Ray stepped up to hand her the gift bag. Then he offered her his arm, just like Andrew had done. He escorted her to their table and held her chair for her as well. He would have to add that whole God and Goddess thing later as well. This night was full of surprises.

Another employee came up to their table to ask of a Birthday gift for Inion while the next lady was announced. "Lady Casandra Marie Lightheart, mistress of Claremount." And Ivan stepped up, gift bag in hand.

He offered her his arm and walked her to their table. He kissed her cheek before he held her chair for her. Once they were seated another employee came to ask of a Birthday gift. The party had a double purpose.

The next lady to arrive was let in and being announced to the room. "Lady Kyra Dragonis-Darkmane, daughter of Lord Dreconis Dragonis-Darkmane, lord of the house of Darkmane and God of Wind and War."

Isah walked up and smiled. He placed a gentle and chaste kiss upon her lips as he handed her the gift bag and offered her his arm. He escorted her to the table and she too was asked if there was a gift for Inion.

The next lady who was waiting was being let in. "Miss Gwendolan Tyson, mother of Goddess Emilia Tyson." And Manny beamed with pride as he walked up to her. He gave her the gift bag and a long soft kiss.

He walked with her to their table and held her chair for her. A man came up to ask her if she had a Birthday gift for Lady Inion. All the gifts were being placed on a cart to be hidden from Lady Inion until it was time.

There were more women arriving and they were to be let in and announced as well. "Miss Juliet Conner, charge of Lady Inion de Solas Geal." Jason almost fell over seeing her in the dress he had picked out.

He walked over to her and offered her the gift bag before offering her his arm. He walked her over to their table, Dia in tow. He kissed her hand and held her chair for her. She was also asked about a gift.

The next lady to be announced was Ary. "Lady Aryanna Neart, daughter of Lady Inion de Solas Geal" William stepped up to offer her an arm and her gift bag. He smiled as he escorted her to her seat as well.

While Ary was being asked about a gift the last lady who was waiting was announced. "Lady Shayla Gra, friend of Lady Aryanna Neart." They didn't know enough about her for a better introduction to the room.

Paul almost whistled at her when he walked up and gave her the gift bag. He offered her his arm and escorted her to their table. She was asked about a gift for Lady Inion as well. Drinks were also being served.

As the ladies started to peek into their gift bags they would find a lot of lovely little gifts. The top gift was a pair of heart pillows that connected and had the words 'Je t'amie' embroidered on them. They hung up.



The next item in the bag was a pillow with a pair of kissing bunnies on it. Then they would see the maribu of a pen sticking up along the side of the bag. Next to the pen would be a black case that held a nail file.



Along the other side of the bag was a slender white box. It held some heart shaped bath soaps. There was also a small mesh bag of heart shaped bath oils. They had cute little things printed on them like candy.



As they dug deeper in the bag they would find a zippered cosmetics bag. There was also a small soft side clutch with sequins on it. A pretty Chinese take out box held a pair of white gold and diamond heart earrings.



There was still more in the bag. The next item was a wooden trinket box that held a white gold chain with a double heart pendant that was done in white enamel. The men had picked all these gifts themselves.



As they dug deeper there would be a small box that contained a glass rose vase. There would be one of two little jugs that said love on them. They were red or white and the love was a sign that hung from it.



There were two more items. One was a heart shaped silvertone box that contained a white gold necklace with a rainbow of enamel covered hearts on it. The other was also a silvertone box with pink heart earrings.



The whole ballroom had been decorated to perfection, thanks in great part to Eros. There were heart shaped wreaths of dried flowers hanging down. There were red and gold heart wreaths on the walls.





The tables and chairs were draped in red, white and roses. The place settings for dinner were gold, including the utensils, and they had tiny fake gifts on them. There was red trim to the dishes with fancy designs.



Each table was set for only two But they were close enough for mingling. They had a heart shaped center piece on each table, and two heart shaped pillar candles in heart shaped dishes. The candles were lit.



Everyone who had already arrived had been announced and seated. Some of the men were still awaiting the arrival of their ladies to escort for the evening. So everyone was free to talk amongst themselves.

Seems the night was full of surprises. Not to mention things that go bump. A lone wolf, if one could call it that, for it was almost the size of a pony, sniffed at the door. Begrudging humans of their opposable thumbs, he took the doorknob in his teeth and snatched. A-ha, success. Now, let's see what 'puppy' can see, smell, and hear. Spoiler: practically anything. This wolf, if he could speak, could tell you what purplesmelled like. He padded silently down the halls, following his snoot to flavors of...well, ain't that just the damnedest thing. His head cocked to one side as he heard a familiar name.


"Miss Madeline Cauthon, daughter of Sir Gawain Cauthon." Andrew walked up to her and handed her a gift bag. He offered her his arm so he could escort her.

Snuffle. He didn't know who that last person was, but he was probably biting off more than he could chew. If wolves could laugh....his ears twitched, as did his nose, when he heard the next name.

"Lady Kyra Dragonis-Darkmane, daughter of Lord Dreconis Dragonis-Darkmane, lord of the house of Darkmane and God of Wind and War."

Isah walked up and smiled. He placed a gentle and chaste kiss upon her lips as he handed her the gift bag and offered her his arm.

A low and rumbling growl came from his chest. He didn't know names, but if his nose and ears were working like they ought to (and they always are), the fool was going to need another arm. And some new lips.

He scratched at the door once, then, realizing he had left four claw-prints in the wood, snuffled again. Ah well, he could always come back later. And later, come back he would.

Madeline took Andrew's arm and waled with him inside the beautiful ball room. As they walked, she remained quiet. What was she doing here all dolled up like a princess. That wasn't her. She had been thinking a lot since she left Cas's cottage. She longed for the love that Cas had for Ivan. She had that with Jono. She didn't think she could have it with Andrew. Being an employee with Venis, he hardly had time for her. And when he did, they hardly ever talked. Kind of like now, just walking in silence.

This whole scene wasn't her. Andrew was a good guy, and a dear friend. She liked him a lot, but she wasn't sure if it was love.

With that in mind, she stopped and turned and face Andrew. "Look this is all nice, really nice, but it's not me."

With a few simple words, "tergum ut Northmanni" (back to normal) Madeline was back in her typical black tank top, and black jeans. The dress she had on was in one of the gift bags. She was happy.

"You deserve to be with a woman who will love you the way you want to be loved, you're a good friend, and for that I thank you. "

Madeline turned around and walked over to Kyra, leaned in and kissed her cheek, then whispered in her ear. "Have fun sis, you know how to find me if ya need me."

Satisfied with her decision, she ran up the stairs, past the people coming in.

Once she was outside, she opened a portal. Stepping through she headed home.

Emilia was the second one announced. The two men opened the door as a third one announced her. She saw the look on his face and winked at him. Who knew he may one day end up in her bed.

She smiled as she saw Jimmy Ray approach her.

"The dress is perfect, I love it thank you. "

She took the bag from him and took his arm as it was offered. She was just about to sit down in the chair that was being pulled out for her; that was when Maddie left. She blinked and sat down. She did not know the young woman well. She did feel bad for Andrew though.

She handed the gift to the man that came for it and then went through the bag carefully looking at everything and then putting it back just as she had found it.

She looked at Jimmy Ray with a huge smile.

"I thought I would be spending the night alone with my daughter. Thank you so much for thinking of me."

She meant it. The words were a heartfelt thanks from a friend.

Cas had her hands folded in front of her when the doors were opened for her turn to enter. She nodded politely to the man that announced her. She saw the line of men waiting for their dates to be announced.

The smile that crossed her face as she saw Ivan step forward would have lit a dark room. She took the bag he offered her and wrapped her arm through his. She sat in the chair that he pulled out for her and then returned the kiss her gave her.

Instead of being more relaxed the butterflies got worse. She saw Maddie leave and was about to go after her herself. When Kyra left to see what was wrong she relaxed a bit. If Maddie needed to talk later she would come to her.

Her attention was turned back to Ivan. She barely heard the man ask for Inion's birthday gift. She handed him the smaller of the two boxes and placed the second one on the table.

Trying to calm herself further she opened the bag and began looking through the items. The pillow on the top confused her. She did not speak french. She handed it to Ivan.

"What does it say?"

The next item was the kissing bunnies it made her smile. She pulled out the pen and nail file next. Both of hers were purple. She looked at her nails. They were short because of all the work she did with the horses.

She set them aside and pulled out the box of heart shaped soaps. Hers were lavender and rose scented. She looked at the mesh back with the liquid filled hearts. She would ask later what they were.

She pulled out the cosmetic bag and the clutch both had small hearts on them. The next item was the little take out box. She opened it up and smiled as she saw the earnings in it. She was not wearing any so she put them in her ears.

"They are very pretty thank you."

The wooden box was so pretty when she opened it up she saw the double heart pendent. It was cute but more like something Nat would like. She hoped it would not upset Ivan if she gave it to her. She placed the box to the side.

The next item was the glass roses they were so pretty. She knew just who to thank for them. She would do so later. The jug was cute hers was red with a white heart. It made her think of what she needed to tell Ivan tonight. She was sure that this was the perfect time.

The last two items were two more jewelry boxes. The heart shaped silver box held another necklace. This one has several enamel hearts all in different colors. The rounded box said Happy Valentines Day Earth year 2010. In that box was a pair of pink heart earnings. She repacked the bag and looked over to Ivan.

"Thank you for the lovely gifts."

She was very happy that she was not alone tonight.

Gwen was waiting her turn. She saw the doors open and walked in. She smiled as she saw Manny. She did not have to guess who her date was for the night. She wrapped her arms around him and returned the kiss.

She took the bag in one hand and then wrapped her other around his elbow. She sat down in the chair that he held out for her. After she sat her bag down she began looking at all the decorations.

There were hearts of dried flowers hanging all over. She felt sad and excited at the same time. It was all so pretty. She was running her hands over the table cloth and smiling. She looked at the design on the dishes.

She picked up the small gift box on the plate and began to open it. She looked at the small square of styrofoam. She turned it around a few times and then handed it to Manny with a confused look on her face.

"What is this supposed to be?"

When he heard her name he smiled and walked over to her looking her up and down. "Tasha my dear you look every so lovely." With that he took her hand and walked her over to the table they were meant to go to. He let go of her hand and walked over to her chair and pulled it out for her. "M'Lady"He said as he bowed to her.
