The Vampire Council had a tendency to eat/drink in silence when there were guests at the table. That was, of course, unless there was some pressing business that needed to be tended to and could be done in the presence of the guests. So as people who were consuming food were preparing it to be eaten, there was a great silence in the room.
Pepper felt the need to break said silence. She turned her head to address Emilia. "So, Emilia, may I call you Emilia?" She would await a response to her question before continuing. "The journey here, it was not too hard on you, was it? I'm sorry dear, it's just that you seem so tired." Her words had been chosen carefully as the journey self adjusted to the person who was upon it. As if the path had a mind of it's own.

Emilia looked up from her prime rib steak. She looked at Pepper.
"Emilia is fine that is my name."
She thought about the journey. It had been hard on her not just the running and the questions. With the exception of a very short nap with JonLouis on the coyuch she had been awake for four days.
"I am very tiered. I was running for three days. Before that I have been awake for another day. I need sleep but I think I needed food more."
She took another bite of her steak and smiled.
"It is very good."
"Emilia is fine that is my name."
