Cadmon smiled at Ailylaeli as they walked along the trail. “She really is lucky to have a friend like you. But why are we looking for her again?” He was watching everything around them. He hadn’t wanted to take this route to begin with. It had been all her idea. He was moving branches and picking the occasional leaf out of her hair as they moved along.

The sun would be setting soon. He knew they were not far from New Haven, but he was still a little nervous. Neither of them were from Rhy’Din and they still had a lot of exploring to do. It seemed like he saw something new every day. And that in and of itself was enough to make him nervous about being out in the woods after dark.

It was then that he heard some scurrying of in the distance. He snapped his head in the direction of the sound. “Ail, did you hear that?” To some it might have sounded like a stupid question, she was an elf, she heard better than he did. But he was only human, so he had natural human reactions to things. So of course he gripped her hand a little tighter and pulled her in closer to him. Their forward progress was halted so that he could better listen.

A Dangerous Search Empty Re: A Dangerous Search

Post by Ailylaeli Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:13 am

Men could be so jumpy sometimes.

Ailylaeli was walking along with Cad, holding his hand. It was a short cut to a place she had heard of. She thought that maybe Dalia would be there searching for Zephyr. She felt sorry for Dalia. She fell in love and then her love had to leave her. She was crunched for time to get married, her father was dieing. And the poor girl wanted to marry for love. Ail admired her for that.

So they were walking along, getting farther and farther from down town New Haven. She wasn’t sure what the name of the town was that they were headed towards. She had been told, but she forgot. But at least she remembered that going through the forest was a short cut. He should have been happy that she wasn’t making him take her the long way. It could have been worse.

And now he needs to be reminded of why.

She shook her head and chuckled when he asked her why they were searching for Dalia. It was only like the fifteenth time in the last few months that he had asked her. It seemed like he asked her at least once a week. “I told you, I am worried about her. I have not heard of her in a very long time. She was supposed to keep in touch on the talk box of yours. She has the numbers.”

She sighed as they continued walking along. “If I thought it was just a simple case of she forgot the numbers to make the box make noise, we wouldn’t be out here. I think she’s in trouble of some kind.” It had been a few months since Dalia had called, and so it really was starting to worry Ail. She had barely gotten a chance to get to know her before she left.

Just because you’re still getting to know someone doesn’t mean you can’t worry.

Her shorter legs had to do twice the work to keep up with his longer strides, but she was managing. She could hear little creatures scurrying about that he couldn’t hear. And her amethyst eyes saw things that his couldn’t see. So she was a little startled when she heard something that sounded wrong just before he asked her if she had heard it. Of course she had, duh.

Her head snapped in the same direction as his as he was asking. “Of course. That wasn’t a woodland creature. That was a biped.” She tilted her head slightly, her pointed ears twitching slightly as she looked and listened for the source of the sound. Her heart raced and she started to hear it thudding in her ears. She closed her eyes trying to drown it out.

Ok, sometimes nerves were a good thing.

When he gripped her hand tighter and pulled her closer to him she felt somehow a little safer. Though, she wasn’t sure why. Small, light steps moved her so that she was facing him, still holding his hand in hers. She closed the distance between them and slid her free hand around his waist. She pressed against his body and leaned her head against his chest.

Hugging herself to him made her feel even safer, but now it was his heartbeat in her ears. So she moved her head away from him so she could hear. “Too heavy to be human, I think.” She had been learning a lot in her time here. Including some of the advantages of being an elf. She had hoped she would have been
able to spend more time with other elves, but …

Times like this call for fight or flight.

She was the first of the pair to see the beast advancing on them. He was at least seven feet tall, or looked that way to her. She was short after all. It was covered in long, matted, black fur. The pair of eyes that were meeting up with hers were bright red. It was still too far away to tell more detail of the eyes. And it had big, white, sharp teeth. Lots of them.

A deep breath drawn in she opened her mouth to scream and the air leaving her lungs was void of sound. She was too scared to even scream. What was that monster that was coming towards them? She had never seen such a thing before. And it had her so scared that neither fight nor flight was an option. She was almost too scared to maintain muscle control.

So now what were they going to do?

Post by Cadmon Lennan Dewayne Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:15 am

When Ailylaeli moved around in front if him, he put his arm around her. He was watching the woods where the sound was coming from, so he didn’t see her silent scream. If he had he might have been better prepared for the huge black werewolf that was moving towards them. As soon as he saw the red eyes he knew they were in trouble. But the sheer size of the beast was a little shocking to him.

The beast was still a little ways away from them when he caught a glimpse of it’s long, matted, black fur. And for some reason, he had a split second to wonder why it’s fur was matted. But then he slowly started to push Ail around him. He wanted to put himself between her and the beast. He was worried about the beast getting her. He knew they should run, but he had already figured out that werewolves were very fast. So he knew that if they both ran, it would catch them.

He started backing up, with her behind him. He had both of his hands reaching behind him to make sure that she was there and that she didn’t trip or anything. But that was when he heard a branch break in another direction. There was more than one beast out there. They were in even more danger than they had originally thought.

A Dangerous Search Empty Re: A Dangerous Search

Post by Jasper Izzoli Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:24 am

The small make shift pack had been out hunting for small game. They were all hungry, some practically starving. Of the sixteen in number that they had been, they had already lost three. They had been a regular Noah’s Ark when they started out. But now they were down by one rat, one hyena, and one swan. They other swan in their group practically on his death bed with sickness. The swans had been cursed by the fact that they were docile and didn’t hunt as well as the others.

So once the pair in the woods were spotted, it was open season. There were mouths to feed and two humans could feed a lot. So Jasper began to close in on them slowly. Off in the distance, the remaining hyena, Quintessa, saw his change in direction and stance. She followed suit. She was about forty yards out from where Jasper was. She figured she would flank the prey.

All of those who were out hunting, were in hybrid form. It allowed for a quicker shift to full beast form if needed, or full human form. When he had his prey in his sights, Jasper knew he could at least take one of them. He was the strongest of the make shift pack. Which was saying a lot given there were two werebears amongst them.

Jaspers strength stemmed from the fact that his Ulfric, alpha male from his previous pack, had been a part of a Triumvirate. The other two members had been the Master of the City for the city that they lived in, who just happened to be a five-thousand plus year old vampire from a pure bloodline that came straight from Earth, and a witch who held a lot more power than the average human. And the three of them combining their power in such a way, had a trickle down effect within the pack, the vampire bloodline, and the witches coven. Jasper was one who had benefited from it all.

But as much power as Jasper had, he had never been an alpha wolf. Beta maybe, but until this make shift pack, never an alpha. And as soon as he found a way to ensure the safety of his pack, and himself, he would be beta once again. He had no designs on alpha. He didn’t want the responsibility. And the way things were going with this make shift pack, he had even less desire for the job than before.

He saw the man move the woman so that he was between them. Which suited Jasper just fine. If he could take down the male, he could easily take down the smaller female. Besides, he figured that once he got ahold of the male, someone else would be along to take down the female at the same time. He could smell Quintessa not far from him. So the half man, half wolf, full beast stalked towards his prey. His back was arched, his claws were bared, his eyes dead set as he was ready to strike.

Cadmon was ready to fight, but he didn’t want Ail in more danger. “Sweety, I want you to run.” He was still holding her in place behind him, but if she moved to run he would move his arm to let her. The problem was, she wasn’t. Which worried him more. “I’m serious Ail. I want you to get out of here. I can hold it off while you escape.” Of course, he wasn’t taking the other sound into account. One monster at a time.

He was continuing to walk them backwards slowly. He wanted as much distance between them and the advancing werewolf as possible. His heart was pounding in his chest as the inevitable visions began to run through his head. Visions of the werewolf tearing his stomach open and his guts spilling out. Visions of the beast tearing off his head and tossing his lifeless body aside to take a bite out of Ail. He closed his eyes and shook his head. He had to stop the visions so he could keep them safe. Because she was obviously not going anywhere.

Sometimes, flight is not acceptable.

Ailylaeli made no movement other than to go backwards one step at a time with Cad. There was no way she was abandoning him to face the beast alone, not if she could help it anyway. He was just going to have to put up with her being right there with him for this fight. “Hush, I heard you. But so did they, and I’m not going anywhere without you.” She told him.

She could hear the other animal off in the distance, it was closing in on them. It seemed like it was two on two, a fair fight in her eyes. And she was going to stay and fight, the best she could, and it didn’t matter what Cad said. If he wanted her to flea, he would have to go too. That was when she saw the beast step into the small clearing they were in.

How she managed to stay upright was beyond her.

A Dangerous Search Empty Re: A Dangerous Search

Post by Jasper Izzoli Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:49 am

When he stepped into the clearing, Jasper saw the looks upon the faces of his prey. Could that be terror? It seemed like sheer terror to him. He had seen those looks before, on much smaller prey of course, but they were similar none the less. He was slightly curious as to why they weren’t running for their lives yet. Perhaps they had no idea that the lack of food in his belly has started to take it’s toll. Perhaps they had no idea that he was not at one hundred percent, he was slower, weaker, and they stood a tiny chance at escaping. Or at least they’d had the chance a few moments ago, before he made the clearing.

So now that he was in the clearing with them, it was an easy catch. All Jasper had to do was strike. He could easily take the man down. A few swipes would spill the mans guts out into the forest floor. And while he did that, Quintessa could get to the female. She was a little stronger than Jasper, she had eaten more recently. When it came to feeding the males or the females, the females ate first. It was his order and they all followed. The women would divide up the food amongst the group, and if there wasn’t enough to offer nourishment to the men and the women, the women took the men’s portions as well.

So it was settled, he would take down the male and Quintessa would catch the female that was sure to flea seeing her mate getting attacked. There was a pang of guilt, after all, these were humans, and the Lycan’s were humans, they were killing their own kind. But the survival instinct was taking over. And it was most definitely survival of the fittest. Or in this case, the predatorily dominant.

As Jasper advanced upon his prey, flesh peeled back to reveal a mouth full of sharp white teeth. Left arm was brought up over his head with his claw bared. He kept his right arm down and slightly back. With good reason. He wanted the focus of his prey to be on his left hand, not his right. Haunched legs carried him forth one step at a time. There was no need to rush, his prey was stationary.

When Jasper was close enough, he swung downward with his left hand. Which should have caused his prey to bend backwards in an attempt to avoid the slice. That usually left the gut open for the right hand to slice across and spill the contents of the body onto the ground. So the right hand did come out and slice across where a stomach should be.

Cadmon was watching the wolf, and just like the wolf thought, he didn’t look to the right hand, it wasn’t poised to strike. He was watching the jaws and the left claw of the beast. “Ailylaeli, I want you to run now.” He nudged her to try and make her run. He arched his back as the thing approached. His gut was protruding forth just as the wolf had hoped. Though Cad had not known that the wolf wanted that to happen. If he had known, he would have reacted differently.

And then he felt it. There was a slice at his stomach. He could feel the skin tearing away and separating. His hand immediately went to his stomach. “RUN! Get the Healer, get the Goddess, just RUN!” Shouting the word run at her twice. Cad started to double over from the pain. The cut had hit right on the mark and had tore his stomach open from side to side and clear through the skin to expose the muscle below. That was when he saw it. There was a large stick upon the ground. Almost a tree branch. It was big enough to use as a weapon, yet small enough for Cad to grip with one hand, good thing too, because one hand was all he had. He grabbed up the stick and swung it at the head of the werewolf.

Post by Ailylaeli Mon Jul 12, 2010 5:28 am

It was definitely time to run.

When the werewolf struck out at Cad, Ailylaeli screamed. And when Cad yelled at her to run, she did. She ran fast and she ran hard. She had no idea where she was going at first, she was just headed back in the same direction from whence they came. She could hear the sounds behind her, but she dared not look back. She was very much scared for their lives.

Then it dawned on her what Cad had told her to do. He told her to get the Healer or the Goddess. She remembered that they had moved out of the Tel’Ranaemyn Inn shortly before she and Cad had taken off. They had never officially checked out of the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn, but Cad was still sending money back to the Inn once a month to pay for their rooms.

Now where was Seleen and Shuda‘s wedding?

It took Ail a moment, but she remembered the Starry Myst Inn. She had never heard of the place before the wedding, but that was where she needed to go now. She just hoped that they were still there. But that was definitely where they had gone to. She was a little worried that she wouldn’t be able to find the place again in time, or that she wouldn’t find them.

She heard running behind her, though off in the distance. Her first thought was that the werewolf had finished off Cad and was now coming after her. She didn’t know anything about werewolves or any other were animals. As far as she knew, the only were animals were werewolves and werepanthers. She knew about werepanthers because of the Healer.

A right turn would lead her to a house.

She remembered that there was a cottage that was up ahead and to the right. She had no idea why she remembered it at the moment, just that she did. So she ran for the cottage as fast as she could. Still with the sounds of something behind her, and gaining on her fast. Luckily she could see the small cottage ahead, but was anyone home she wondered.

She ran to the door of the cottage and banged on the door. She wasn’t stopping until whatever was chasing her got her, or until someone opened the door. It was hard to listen for the thing that was following her over her banging on the door. But she didn’t care, she was not giving up. She just knew that there had to be someone home, it was getting dark.

Someone just had to be home.

Candlelight flickered to life in the small cottage. It was one lone small candle, that began to move through the house illuminating one, maybe two, windows at a time. The loud banging on the door had not stopped and had stirred the woman who had already retired for the evening. Slippered feet carried the woman towards the front door from the back bedroom.

As she wandered down the hall she opened a door and peeked in. Luckily the noise had no woken her daughter. A little farther down the hall she peeked into another door. A little boy sat up in his bed and looked towards the candle light. “What is it mommy? They usually don’t knock so long.” The woman shook her head before she spoke. “I know they don’t baby. Which makes me think that it’s not one of them.” Them being the beasts that had taken over the area just North of the cottage where there was a deep cave.

She began to pull the door closed again. “Go back to sleep, I will take care of it.” She let the door silently latch closed again. Then she continued towards the front door. With a sigh, she reached the front door. But she did not turn the handle and open the door. She didn’t even unlock it. Not when the sun had already fallen and darkness had settled upon the land. No, instead she slid open a small panel at the top of the door. It was conveniently placed at eye level. She looked outside and didn’t see anyone at first.

Was that a panel sliding?

Ail stepped back from the door and stopped pounding on it. When she stepped back she looked up and saw the candle light coming out from the hole. But she also saw something else. Eyes. She had finally woken someone up. Though one could wonder why adult beings were asleep at this early hour. Such wonderment was lost on Ail as she looked up to the women. With panic in her voice she spoke. “Please, help me. My boyfriend has been attacked by a beast, and I think it is chasing me.” She looked North to see if she could see anything yet.

Not seeing a beast coming after her yet she returned her attention to the woman behind the door. “I need to find the Starry Myst Inn.” She hoped that she had the name of the place right. If she didn’t, or if this woman didn’t know where it was, she was sure to loose Cad this night. It hadn’t even occurred to her that she had referred to him as her boyfriend for the first time. “Please, do you know where it is? Maybe I could come in for a moment?” She had a eerie sense that the beast was approaching, and approaching entirely too fast.

She hoped the woman could help.

She looked out the window and the small woman, obviously an elf given her pointed ears. “Shhh, quiet yourself child. The Inn that you seek is outside of the woods, to the West. South West to be exact. It shouldn’t take you too long if you’re swift in your movement. Now please, you have already woken my son, I do not wish you to wake my daughter as well. Go, be on your way. I do not wish those beasts to come here again.” Of course, the elf woman wouldn’t know what she meant, but she had no time to explain either.

She moved her face from the door for a moment. It was a space of maybe thirty seconds. Then she was back. “Could you be so kind as to get this note to the Goddess of Protection if at all possible? Perhaps after you have rescued your boyfriend and your life calms? I need her to get this note as soon as possible. It has been rumored that she is at the Inn, but if she is not there, perhaps someone could tell you where she is or even have it messengered to her somehow.” She dropped the folded paper from the panel in the door.

Was this woman serious?

Ail picked up the dropped note. “I am supposed to find her or her healer, that is why I am headed there. I will deliver the note as soon as I can. Thank you for your help and I am sorry for waking your child.” Ail took a few breaths in hopes of calming herself. But she heard a branch break off in the distance. It was coming. She had to run.

One last look towards the door, and the woman peeking out of it. “Thank you again.” Then she turned to the South and started to run again. As she ran she slowly began to veer to the right, which would take her West as well as South. It was an odd coincidence that woman had a note for the person Ail was supposed to find, very odd indeed.

She had to move very fast.

The woman nodded, though it might have been hard to see that through the panel. Only her eyes would have been seen. Then she slid the panel closed. She moved quickly as she headed back to her room. She didn’t look in on her children, they knew better than to light a candle or come out of their rooms this late. She made it back to her bed and extinguished the candle quickly. Then she laid down and closed her eyes. She just hoped that they elf woman made it to where she was going in time.

The note for the Goddess was important, and she trusted that the woman would follow her word and deliver it to the Goddess as soon as she had a chance. When the Goddess got the note, she would find that it told her of the beasts in the cave. It would explain how the beasts just showed up one day and started hunting the small game. The note would also explain how when the game started to get thinned out they moved on to bigger game. And that bigger game included her husband when he was outside one night. She knew that the Goddess couldn’t give her husband back to her, but she was hoping that something could be done to relocate the beasts or something.

Jasper didn’t need to take another shot, and he was quickly healing from that shot to his jaw. He knew that the human would bleed out from his wound, and the shot he had received hadn‘t even dislodged his jaw, just made it sore for a little while. It was only a matter of time for the man. The other Lycans were closing in. The smell of fresh blood giving away the fact that there was dinner about to be served. So Jasper continued to circle around the man. Every time he advanced one step, the man swung the stick. Jasper found it amusing, so he would just swat at the stick and step back.

He was sure to get told to quit playing with the food. But as long as he did so, the food stayed alive. And the longer the food stayed alive, the fresher it was when it was finally time to eat. And they wanted the meat to be fresh. If they had to eat a human, it was best if they ate it fresh and they gave the bones a proper burial. After all, they were part animal, but they were still part human as well. They hated when they would catch a human in their hunting grounds, they didn’t want to eat humans. But they had to survive.

While Ail was running to get help, Cad was trying to hold himself together, and loosing blood quickly. But the werewolf hadn’t managed to get another swipe at him yet. The stick was a pretty good defense weapon. But he knew that there were more of them, and they were closing in. He could see eyes out in the trees in spots.

Speaking of spots, he was definitely seeing them now. His head was swimming from the blood loss. He hoped and prayed that Ail could make it to the Inn in time. He was applying as much pressure as he could while still swiping at the werewolf to keep him away.

Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me …

Ok, So Ailylaeli wasn’t the gingerbread man. But she was running as fast as her short little legs would take her. It seemed weird to her that as she ran, the trees and bushes seemed to simply move aside for her. She had expected to have tripped and fallen at least once at this point. But the forest was clearing it’s own path for her to follow.

As she was running, she wasn’t thinking about the beast that had been following her. She wasn’t even sure if it was still even following her at this point. She only thought about how she had to get help immediately. Cad was back there in the woods and he was cut and bleeding, if not worse. And she definitely did not want to think worse.

Where was this stupid Inn at anyway?

She hurdled over a bush that she should have never been able to clear and found herself in a clearing. She stopped for just a second. She looked around and tried to catch her breath. Then it dawned on her, she had made it. She looked to her left and saw it, the castle, well the Inn. It had been a castle once, right. She had found the Inn.

She smiled for a brief second. She didn’t hear anything behind her anymore. She took the time to whisper to herself. “I found it. Let’s hope it’s not too late.” And she took off running again. She didn’t slow down from her previous speed. There wasn’t time to be slower. She had to get to the people who could help and then get back.

There it was, the front door.

As she was running through the garden in the direction of the Inn the strap broke on her sandal. She ran right out of it without even noticing. Then a strap broke on the other one as well. She was now barefoot as she ran through the gardens of the Starry Myst Inn. But it didn’t slow her down one bit, she was finding nothing but grass.

She burst through the door of the Inn at a full on run. She almost couldn’t stop in time to look to the desk. She began ringing the bell like she herself was dieing. But that wasn’t all, she also started shouting. “HELP … NEED … GODDESS … OR HEALER ... HELP … PLEASE!” She was out of breath and scared half to death.

Someone was coming to help, right?

He had been sitting in the back room for a moment eating his meal when he heard the back doors of the Inn slam open, it made him jump to the point where he had to balance his food on the plate that he almost let go of. "What in the..." Is all he said as he walked out to the ringing and ringing of the bell. And when he looked at the woman in front of him asking for a healer or the goddess, he knew that from hearing about it that Tasha was a healer so in a criss cross fashioned pointed to both the elevator and the stairs. "Um......I believe you want room 401" The entire time he has had a confused look on his face. Its not every day that someone comes barging through the doors of the inn looking for someone.

Room four o' one, got it.

All Ailylaeli heard was room number four o' one. And she was ready to run again. "Thank you." Shouted over her shoulder as she bound for the stairs. She had been inside before, so she remembered at least that much.

Up the steps she ran, her bare feet hitting hard. She hit the second floor and smiled at the memory of the wedding she had attended here. It had been a lovely affair. But it was up the next flight of stairs without stopping.

She could count floors in this state, right?

She had never seen the third floor of the Inn before. Only the lobby where you came in at, and the second floor. She and Cad had not stayed after the reception. They had gone back to the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn to sleep.

So if this was the third floor, the next would be the fourth, right? Which was the floor she needed, yes? She hit the stairs running, and when she made the landing, she almost kept going, almost. It was three steps.

Sometimes, inertia got the best of you.

Backing down those three steps that she had accidentally taken up the next flight of stairs, she started to look at room numbers. It didn't take long to find room four o' one. After all, it was at the end of the hall, right?

She ran over to the door and doubled up her fist. She was probably going to wake the whole floor, if not the whole Inn, but with the side of her fist, she pounded on the door fast and loud. She wasn't privy to the code.

Someone, please be home.

Ha'ruil and Tasha had been taking a shower when the banging started on their door. He did a little jump as he turned his head to the sound.

"Dear I am going to check to see who is knocking on our door to the point where it might come off the hinges."

He smiled and gave her a kiss before taking a few steps out of the shower and grabbed a towel. He dried his hair before wrapping it around his midsection and walked out to the living room. Levi was there looking at the door then at him.

"I guess its important huh Levi?"

He smiled at the big cat before walking over to the door, unlocking it and opening up the door to see a fist coming at his face. He of course dodged it moving a little to the left before looking at the woman, He had met her before but now she looked out of breath and without shoes.

"Um....May.....I.....Help....You???"

That is all he could say as he watched this woman.

What was that law of nature again?

The law of Inertia states that an object at rest tends to remain at rest until acted upon by an outside force. And the balance of that is the rest of the law. An object in motion tends to remain in motion until acted upon by an outside force.

Well, Ailylaeli's fist was an object in motion. And the outside force had been the door. Until it was answered though. The object in motion remained in motion then. Causing her to stumble forward. After all, it was the law of Inertia.

Now, what's that other law?

Inertia went hand in hand with the law of Gravity, What goes up, must come down. And so she was headed down. Headed face first towards the floor. And she would continue to fall forward until she met with any outside force.

Once that outside force made contact with her, what ever it happened to be, a sound would emanate from her as the air rushed from her lungs. "Umph ... Oww." After all, she would hit rather hard when she came to a stop.

Wasn't this a lovely first impression.

Once she hit upon whatever she happened to hit upon, be it the man who answered, the large black cat, or the floor itself, she would feel her golden circlet fall from her head. And she would be at a definite loss for breath.

Her head would turn to her right as she looked up to see who answered the door. Seeing a male elf in a towel, she would move away, scrambling towards the first hard thing she could rest against, be it the door or the wall.

Now what was she doing here again.

It took a moment for her to realize that a, she had forgotten her circlet over on the floor, and b, she was here to get the healer. So she inched forward to try and get her circlet from where it rested on the floor, by the big kitty.

Once she was able to snatch it, she gripped it in both hands. A woman had told her a story about elves that came to Rhy'Din to steal back elves and take them back to where they came from and put them in prisons for life.

Oh how she hoped the story was a lie.

Her throat was dry and she was still trying to catch her breath as she began to speak. "Healer ... Cad ... Too late ... Maybe ... Don't know ... Monster ... Followed ... Me maybe." Did he catch any of that with her dry voice?

As she clutched her circlet in her hands, it began to glow softly. It had never done that before. It was given to her by someone at the circus where she had been before she came to Rhy'Din. She had never knew it could glow.

So why was it glowing around this man?

After a few moments of of seeing her tumble to the ground and then shrinking up against a corner, his confused look still was still on his face as he looked at her. He then came closer to her after he saw her reach for her circlet. He looked over to Levi and gave her a shrug. He then knelled down making sure that the towel kept him covered.

"Calm down.....deep breaths........try longer sentences."

He was not trying to be smart about it. But at the moment the woman in front of him was making no sense what so ever. The only thing that he could make out was healer, and he knew that Tasha was a healer so that much he thought he knew.

What was going on here?

Ailylaeli was unknowingly slipping into a state of shock. She had been surprised by the door opening, and then hitting the floor, and then an elf in a towel, and now her glowing circlet. And he wanted her to calm down and try longer sentences? Was he out of his gourd?

When he moved closer, her circlet glowed brighter. So bright in fact, that she moved it behind her back. And as she did, she pushed back against the wall more, almost climbing up it backwards. Did he have to get closer? She was terrified, and that was causing her shock.

But she had to calm down.

He wanted her to try an speak clearer so he would know what she was talking about, right? So she would try. She took a few deep breaths, those hurt, and then she tried to speak. "We were attacked, in the woods. He may already be dead." Don't cry, don't cry.

She knew there was more he might need to know, but time was her enemy, so she tried to make it fast. "Beasts, they attacked. Cad's hurt, bad. One might have followed me. I need the healer, she needs to save him. It might be too late already." Did he get that?

She was hoping for a miracle.

He had listened to the woman carefully and put the thought of the glowing circlet in the back of his mind before he stood back up and opened the door.

"Levi check around and let me know if you smell or find anything ok?"

His tone of voice of and look in his face said that he was serious at the moment. But Levi did not even argue she just got up and ran out the door to take a look around outside. Once Levi was outside the door he closed it and walked into the bedroom. He opened up a dresser drawer and pulled out a sweatshirt and pants and a few female undergarments, he then walked over to the bathroom and opened the door and put the cloths on the top of the toilet.

"Love get dressed please someone named Cad is in trouble and needs your help."

That was all he said to her before he went to another drawer and pulled out some cloths for him, he then closed the door to the bedroom and got dressed.

When Ha'Ruil opened the bathroom door, he would find Tasha already out of the shower and drying off. "Oh, thank you for the clothes baby. I greatly appreciate it." He sure did have his little ways of making her life run more smoothly and a lot faster. So she was dressed in a quick moment. She didn't even fuss about the bra not matching the top. There wasn't time for all that.

She threw on the bra and luckily, it fastened in the front. He was smart. Then she pulled over the sweat shirt and pulled on the sweat pants. Luckily, they didn't match either, because matching your sweat pants with your sweat shirt was so Old Fart Earthling. Sweat shirt was pink, sweat pants were black, and the bra was blue. Didn't matter though, this was an emergency. As she had heard.

She had already heard some of what was said when she had turned the water off and stepped out. So she knew that someone was hurt. Ha'Ruil had said it was Cad. Which meant that the one banging their door down moments ago was that little elf he had been at the wedding with, or at least she figured that was who it was. She had been a little out of the loop as of late. She was dressed and ready.

She went headed out of the bathroom and into their little kitchenette as she addressed ... It was the little elf girl. "Um, Ail, right? I need to know what kind of monster attacked Cad. How was he injured? How far is he from here? Um, and how did you get here?" She needed to know these things. She was filling a small cooler with ice from a bag. Once she had that full, she added water and closed it.

Cooler in hand she headed into the sitting room and grabbed up her medical bag. If was an old bag from Earth, doctors used to use them when making house calls. Eighteenth or nineteenth century she believed. It was black and leather and had a whole lot of room. It was a little bigger than the cooler. She tossed a ladle into her bag as well. She set both bags by the door and paused to think.

By then Ha'Ruil was probably out of the bedroom from getting dressed. If not, he could hear her through the door, right? "Honey, where's Levi? We need to get moving, there's not time to waste." She was trying to make sure she remembered everything as they rushed out the door. But before they could go, she had to get the answers from Ail. She gave her a bottle of water.
