To find people was not to hard of a job to be doing when you were in the line of work Eleuterio Minguez (otherwise known as Leo) engaged in. Is it that the finding came with difficulties at times - people crossing over Realms and Planes and other Dimensions, all of which made the process longer, but, eventually, they were discovered.

What made finding people easy was when they told of where they could be found. This was the case and the reason for the Spaniard traveling along the path that lead up to the Starry Myst Inn in spite of the partial caution he was given by his friend. The leather type casing was still over his left hand and, by word of the surrounding area and sources, vampires resided within the Inns confines. He was here for his own personal reason or two and, since he had a bit of a respite, he found the trip to be worth taking.

He took his time walking in the mid-day sun, his thumbs hooked into the front pockets if his dark blue jeans and elbows holding back the open mahogany jacket and revealing the earth tone shirt, looked around at the surrounding area as he went up the path that lead to the Inn. There was no need to rush for he had not sent word that he was coming and he never rushed for anything less there was need.

This did not go to say that his visit was merely the product of random selection, there was something in his pocket, small and hard to notice with his hand there, that may have been the actual reason for this visit after all!

He went up the steps and opened the door, peeking his head in first before stepping inside. "Hello?" First inquiry while he left the door behind and continued in.

As luck would have it for Mr. Minguez, the vampire population was limited to one vampire he knew, one he might know, and then two others. The one he knew was out at the moment. The one he might know, and the other two, were all asleep at this hour of the day. And for a vampire, asleep was dead. Cold, still, lifeless death. So he was in no danger of being attacked for his bleeding. Besides, the one vampire he knew would kill the others if they had attacked him. They knew the rules, and would abide by them.

But there was a lovely brunet woman who was coming down the stairs when he was entering. She had long black hair that fell to the back of her knees as it was down. She wore a blue spaghetti strap tank top over a white one of the same type. She wore a pair of cut off jean shorts and some blue flip flop style sandals that matched the top. And perched
upon her shoulder, on a piece of soft leather with a rod through it, was a purple pindragon. Who, at the moment, seemed to be talking her ear off rather quietly.

And it was this little purple pindragon that first picked up on the scent of blood in the air. She looked in the direction of the man who had entered the Inn and then cocked her head to the side. She looked at him for a moment before turning her head back to her human companion and whispering to her. "Cat, that man is bleeding. He may need some help. But there's something in the blood I think, or maybe it's the wrapping, either way, it smells different. Maybe you should call your sister?"She looked back at him.

Cat looked at the man that Penelope spoke of. She had never seen him around before. Maybe Pen was right, maybe he did need medical help. But it was better to ask first, wasn't it? So she made a slight adjustment to her path so she could walk over to him. "Hello sir, welcome to the Starry Myst. My name is Catrina, you can call me Cat. Is there anything I can help you with? Perhaps a healer for your injury?"She smiled kindly, she was very trusting. She had no reason not to be, she was safe here.

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Inion Thu Jul 14, 2011 12:07 am

Slow steps took the quiet figure up the stairs from the gym. Inion had spent some time sparring alone. Earbuds plugging her ears and cell phone in hand as she hit the main room of the inn she was paying little attention to what was going on around her. She felt safe here and usually didn't worry about who was visiting the inn. Her outfit would make people stop for a moment as it was a bit out of character for her but it was she usually wore to workout in. One of those sport tank tops that supported and clung to the body and a pair of tight workout pants on her feet where a pair of flip flops. Over her shoulder she carried a large weapons bag. Her hair was pulled high on the back of her head and braided tight, leather lacing braided through it on the ends where round heavy bells that looked more like weapons the decorations. Suddenly she stopped in midstep as she caught a familiar scent, mountain spring air, Inion glanced around with surprise. She spotted him and a smile spread across her lips, there he was standing here talking to Cat. There was another scent attached to him, an injury something more then a cut maybe he will let her look at it. She moved silently as she could toward him, forgetting her scent could give her away, she waved to Cat and made a signal to as to not to give her away. As she came up behind him she stopped within hugs reach, she did just realize though fairies don't sweat like humans they do sweat and a fine glissin covered her bare skin. This didn't stop her from tapping him on the shoulder "oh Leo you are such a man of mystery."

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Leo Fri Jul 15, 2011 4:27 pm

It did not matter to him if it was one vampire or if it were twenty, if they had already had their fill or were restricted, having expose wounds around them was not something he sought after. This did not mean that he kept himself from doing things that he wanted to do simply because of any physical states.

He did hear the person coming down the steps - there didn't seem to be much noise going on in the room so other sounds were sure to stand out. He thought it was the same as the other Inn, how a person would appear when a new person -or stranger - entered into the building, so he was partially expecting to see someone. Leo headed there as she was approaching him, taking a look at the lizard and, at the mention of his hand, he put it more into his pocket.

Forward female would be his first impression of the one who greeted him. She had all the best intentions for asking about it, but it was the asking before he chose to say anything about it or not that made it forward. It is something that he would have to remember. Not being outwardly phased by it Leo greeted her with a smile.

"Mucho gusto señora," his accent coming off well when he spoke in one of his natural tongues. A friendly turn of his lips to a smile while he spoke "I had heard of this location and had a thought to come about." What he had said was the truth, even if it was not the full amount. As for the offer of a healer, it was something that he was not going to give comment, choosing instead of pass over it for other talk. "The area surrounding has much to tell on its own."

Before, it was, that further could happen he was being tapped on the shoulder - even if he had already turned his head an inch around to something that was familiar to him. "Inion." His tone was happily amused as he would turn the rest of the way to embrace her, being mindful of the bag she totted on her back. Then, as long as she did not pull away, would kiss her on either cheek which was customary when greeting those with which one is friendly. Of course, in hugging her, he did have to pull his hand from the pocket. There was no visible blood to be seen as it was all contained in the fabric under the leather.

The hug and kisses were kept short and simple for he did not know if she was able to feel emotions of others through contact or something else, and he wasn't wanting to subject her to the steady prick of pain through his system. With it all he kept his outside composure calm and friendly.

"Fortune to find you about so soon at my arrival. Catrina was doing the honor of welcoming me." He turned the smile on to Catrina and her little perched dragon.

Catrina smiled at the man when he spoke. She recognized his language as Spanish, but she didn't speak Spanish. But his words were rather lovely, and his accent made them even more so. Hence the smile, even though she knew not what he had said. Well, she knew the señora part.

She listened as he spoke again, and his accent was just as beautiful when he spoke common English. Which had Cat a little smitten. She was quite intrigued by this man. She thought that he could probably make an argument sound sexy. But that was not a thought to dwell upon.

She was still smiling as he spoke of the surrounding area. But she saw Miss Inion coming up behind the man. Her smile never wavered as she returned her gaze to him. He seemed rather happy to see her. And it made Cat smile even more. There wasn't enough happiness around lately.

She waited for them to finish their greeting of each other and their pleasantries before she chose to speak again "Hello Miss Inion. I was just heading out to the gardens to take Penelope out when I came across your friend here. You guys are welcome to join me if you would like."

She motioned to the door and then began to walk slowly. She wasn't sure if they wanted to join her, or if they wanted to be alone. Cat was actually hoping for them to join her. She was interested in getting to know this gentleman a little better. Especially if she would get to hear him speak.

Inion wouldn't pull away, if he was willing to hug her even if she was sweaty then he deserved to be hugged back. She of course returned the kisses in the same manner, and though he pulled away she still felt a prick of pain from him. Seems that bit of her newest power was getting stronger, she did chose not to say anything. Knowing Leo even as little as she did she knew he would ask for help when he was ready to.

She smiled at Cat again "hello Catrina and Penalope. It is good to see you again." She moved from behind Leo so that she didn't seem impolite. "I am glad someone was here to welcome you, and you seem lucky that person was such a lovely lady at that, though there are lots of people around it is a quiet place most the time." A soft blush touched her cheeks when he mentioned finding her so soon upon arriving. "It sems you have a special luck to find me so soon, I just happened to be down in the gym." She was slightly surprised that he was here, she knew she didn't hide her where abouts too well from him but wan't expecting to see him here.

Her smile never left her lips as she looked between the two of them, "I was just heading to back to the cottage so a walk through the garden seems in prefect order unless Leo is here for some other reason that needs his attention right away" She looked at Leo and waited for his answer.

It was the luck of him that conversation about the injury did not continue, he did not think it fitting for a place of smiles of the ones he was given. For that reason he kept the smile upon his own face, a natural slight curving of the lips that was easy to hold without any strain or effort.

The destination was chosen by the two females - even if the ending was not the same for both - they were all headed in the same direction. He was not carrying anything with him so there was no need for him to put down, or be relieved, of anything.

"I see it is that my path has been decided," saying as he took a small step back to put the three of them in a more triangular position for conversation. "For this path will also let me see the garden."

He took a look to the lizard on Catrina's shoulder and then around to the bag  Inion carried. "Besides, who would think to harm us with when we have a dragon and a bag of arms?" He was being humorous and chortled easily while exchanging glances between the group. It may be safe to assume that all was safe within the confines of the Inn.

He would not let the females come to harm if it was within his power to do so.

The left hand was easily pocketed in a casual way and with the other he made an ushering sweep of his arm. "Talk about the town has said this Inn to be full of vampires and moon changing humans." Stated in a conversational tone as he waited for them to go the way.

What he did have could wait a bit longer. He was not in a rush.

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Catrina "Cat" Masterson Mon Jul 18, 2011 1:46 am

Catrina laughed softly when the handsome stranger stated that his path had been chosen for him."Unless you would prefer to go else where? There was a twinkle in her lightly hued brown eyes as she spoke. She had not mentioned his hand again because he had slid it into his pocket. So Cat presumed it was something of a sensitive subject and left it alone. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

If dragons could blush ... Penelope seemed rather pleased that the man had regarded her with such high praise as to presume her to be helpful in the protection of those present. As it was with many dragons around her age, she had learned many languages, Spanish was one of them. Even though it wasn't used very often around Rhy'Din "Muchas gracias por su amable señor buenas palabras." She bowed her head.

She was older than most presumed, and had never fully come into her power, but she was fierce when it came to protecting that which was hers, and all those around them. And for this reason, were something to happen, she would protect any one of those present, or any others around. It was her way. She was nicknamed the mother hen for more than just the fact that she had been a breeder in her time.

Cat took the initiative and moved towards the front door. "We can take the front door, that way Penelope can see if Willow wants to come out and play with her today. She's been a little under the weather." Usually they would go out the back for it was the shortest path. But the front door would take them past the stables on their way. And Willow, who Leo might remember, had really been upset lately.

Later, she would think to question Penelope about speaking Spanish. She knew the dragon spoke French and Romanian, but Spanish was new to Cat's ears. When it was mentioned that the Inn was full of vampires and moon changing humans, Cat chuckled softly. She didn't know that the town had been speaking of the Inn. She had never heard of it before her sisters Birthday that they celebrated here.

But maybe they would get more guests if they weren't afraid of vampires or lycans, or if they were one of the two?"Yes, the Goddess Venis is here, as is her Lieutenant, Seleen. We also have two other vampires in residence who are here vacationing. And then for lycan's we have my sister Tasha, and she had thirteen other lycans come to stay. Though some of them might be leaving soon."

She smiled as they headed outside. Once they were out the doors, she would turn to her left and the stables could be seen up ahead at the end of the driveway. The slightest shaking of the ground beneath their feet would let them know that Willow was in fact up and about. She had been anticipating their coming this day as they had asked her of it the day before. Then she poked her big pink head out.

Hopefully Leo would remember the big pink dragon from a Valentine's Day where everyone was escorted from the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn to Claremount Castle for a party? Because it would be very upsetting to the big girl if she scared the man. She was rather sensitive. When she came bounding out from the larger of the two stable buildings, she tried to control her excitement. But she was very happy.

Catrina chuckled at Willow and looked at Penelope. "It looks like Willow is in the mood to come out and play today. You two stay close and don't be out too late. You know Willow is still a baby. And watch out for her flying disk and her pumpkins. She plays a little rougher than you do little one." She leaned her head to the side so her hair wouldn't hinder the Pindragon's take off. She watched them head off.

Post by Inion Tue Jul 19, 2011 1:24 am

Inion followed the other two out the door to outside, she was a bit distracted for a moment at her phone went off. A guick glance and it was taken care of. She listened to Cat talk to Leo about the residents he wondered about. It was not long once they were outside that she felt the ground rumble and the pink dragon appeared. She smiled brightly at Willow, though she really hadn't been around the dragon much but she had seen her out playing. It was a sweet sight to see such a creature out playing and having fun. It was hard not to smile and laugh when you saw her, cause there was something so cute about her. She watched as Penelope fly off to play with Willow.

She loved walking through the gardens and was glad that the cottage was in the gardens. Inion moved toward where the cottage was, it was still a bit of a walk but atleast it was a lovely day. There was no rush really why hurry when there was so much to see and talk about. Usually she would have taken Leo's arm as they walked but just from the brief hug she knew he seemed worried about concerning other about his hand, so instead she walked close to him. "so my dear brave knight do you have tales of valor to report?" She was being cute and giving him a chance to play along. If anyone asked she would lie but in truth she really loved to her him talk, his voice was so smooth and sexy.

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Leo Wed Jul 20, 2011 12:33 pm

It was Leo's hope that neither of the two women that he walked with took any type of offense that he was aiming to stay a step or two behind, to keep them in front. Was not anything that he did, it was only that when walking with a female - if not holding their hand - was to stay a step or two behind to make sure that they are secure and safe. If they happened to be walking down a sidewalk he would be on the outside.

Listening to what Catrina said of the Inn's residences he nodded politely in the areas that required it. Certainly word of such creatures would have made its way to the town proper. They were not so isolated where they were and people were always prone to rumors and speculation - especially if only happened to think they saw a glimpse of a dragon flying in the sky.

He was enjoying the walk and the company and, a time or two doing the travel, his good hand stretched out at his side and fingers caressed the air where the flowers were. Even if he didn't actually stop or bend to feel them.

Leo remembered Venis and word of Seleen and Tasha, as well as that pink dragon. When it made it's appearance he gave the creature a smile and a tip of his head since he wasn't wearing a hat, and watched them fly off after which he turned a brighter smile to Inion and her question.

"As a matter of fact, mi'Lady," adding in a flare of a bow to the title before he stood back up and smiled between the two of them, "This Knight recently undertook a journey to a large encampment of Eilistraee, the Drow elves who have turned from Lolth, and aided in, shall we say, negotiations?" He was not of the mind to know if either of them knew about the Drow, let alone the ones who were not Lolthian.

"Stunning creatures they are." Thinking that thought for a moment.

"I was given something extra due to my dealings, and it's part of the reason I am here."

Post by Inion Fri Jul 22, 2011 2:04 am

A soft giggle escaped Inions lips when she saw Leo bow, but it was short lived and she stopped dead in her tracks when he mentioned the Drow. Yes she had heard of them, even had dealings with them during the confernces she was required to attend as a child of Light. The ones she knew of where not kind and this of course made her think of his hand. When he mentioned dealing with ones that have turned from Lolth her brow creased, she wasn't as familar with them. Her worry only increased when he talked about being given something extra, her thoughts kept going back to his hand. She took a deep breath and put a smile back on her lips. "I would love to here about these Drow that you have visited. " They were getting close to her cottage, "I can make us all something to eat while you tell us tales of your adventure." She included Cat in the invitation.

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Catrina "Cat" Masterson Sat Jul 23, 2011 6:11 am

Willow would catch a glimpse of Leo tilting his head towards her just before she took flight. This too made her happy, because she then knew that she had not scared anyone. It might sound odd for a dragon to be upset about scaring others, but she was only eleven human years old, and other than Cat's Pindragons, she had never been around another dragon. She was very much still a child, even if she was extremely large for her age.

Penelope flew around Willow's head provoking her to take flight and give chase. It was the best way for the much tinier Pindragon to safely play with Willow. Once Willow took flight, Penelope would continue to circle Willow until they were high enough that the trees were no longer an issue. Then they would break into speeding around and chasing each other. Penelope would take it easy on Willow at first, let the larger beast get stretched and warmed up.

Catrina would chuckle at the pair, how could she not? There was this Earth cartoon, it was on one of those retro channels on the Satellite TV. It was called The Flintstone's. It was a cartoon about a cave man and his family and friends. They had things that did not exist in that time of Earth's history, but the show was funny. One of the main characters was a dinosaur that was like the pet dog. His name was Dino, and he reminded Cat of Willow.

She remained silent for a moment while Inion and her handsome friend spoke of knights and adventures. But it was when the man spoke of Drow that he had her full attention. Her only dealings with Drow had not been nice. Well, other than Venis' son, but then again, she had never seen Dreconis in his Drow form either. Her sister had, but that was none of Cat's business. No, her business was Pindragons, and that was how she had met with Drow.

She remained silent still, as he spoke of them turning from their Goddess and how they were involved in negotiations and what not."I did not know any had strayed from their Goddess. Were they not happy?" Happy being a relative term as Drow were the evil darkness of the elven world. Cat much preferred to deal with elves of light. Like Miss Gwen and Ha'Ruil. Which is when it dawned on her that her little sister had a thing for those of elven blood.

She smiled for but a moment, having figured out something of her sister that the little red haired lycan had never spoken aloud to her. She was in the midst of two thoughts when Inion spoke of lunch and listening to the man speak his tale. One thought was a wondering if her sister Alicia knew of Tasha's penchant for the pointy eared ones. The other was a wondering of what the handsome strangers voice would sound like when he first woke in the morning.

Both thoughts were pushed to the back of her mind once Inion had made the invitation. "I would love to join you for lunch, provided it is alright with your friend here that I encroach on more of his time with you." She smiled and couldn't help but be happy about the chance to listen to him speak more. She thought to herself that she could listen to him talk for hours and never tire of the beauty of his voice. And all this without even knowing his name.

Of course, it was Catrina's own fault that she did not know the man's name. She should have paid closer attention when Inion had joined the two of them, for she had mentioned his name then. But Cat was a little distracted at that time. So she would wait for Inion to speak his name again, then act as if she had caught it the first time. Until then, she would walk with them and listen to him, rather them, speak as her fingers danced along the greenery.

As far as his walking a step or two behind the pair of women, Cat found it rather sweet. She was pleased to learn that chivalry was not indeed as dead as once thought. She had that that the only ones left in the world with true valor and honor were proper knights. She had been around far too many a man who was rude and obnoxious. And they usually fled her life once she would threaten to feed them to the Pindragons. They were mice.

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Leo Mon Jul 25, 2011 1:53 pm

Note was taken on how both females reacted to his mention of the Drow and he did take that to mean that of them they did not know too much. What knowledge they did have of them looked none to favorable, and he could not blame them.

There was taken a bit of a pause in his walking, a different change of his stride. "It is that not all of the Drow are followers of Loth." Leo began to explain. "While in parts she may be the most commonly known and taken to be the mother, there are seven - or six depending on your practice - members of the Dark Seldarine. The Drow gods and goddesses." It was common practice for Leo, most of the time when he was walking and in conversation, to talk with his hands when saying more than one or two things. As this was the case his leather clad hand had come out of his pocket and was making small gestures along with the right.

"Eilistraee is still chaotic but has broken from the demoinc grasp that is Lolth. Her symbol, is the moon." His eyes lingering on Inion for a moment.

Leo was a different type of man, or that has been his thought after much hearing and seeing of the others in Rhy'din. The females here, too, were also different than the ones back home but, no matter where, there were things that stay the same. When a female invites a man to break in her home it was good to accept less kept from it.

"Business sees me to be in a lot of places," giving a smile to the both of them while he held his hands behind his back. "A bit of food would be welcomed as the travel was long. Please, Catrina, join us. Perhaps there is somthing that I can say of my trip." Letting it known in that statement that he would not disclose everything.

He looked forward to see if he could spot sign of the residence.

Post by Inion Tue Jul 26, 2011 12:59 am

Inion listened to Leo talk about the the Drow he had visited. She usually didn't judge people till she had meet them she supposed that should be true about the Drow. She also understood that he wasn't usually able to talk about his work in detail "well Leo my dear hearing even a bit of your adventures is always exciting."

They came around a little bend on the path and the cottage came into view. It wasn't difficult to tell Inion lived in that cottage it just had that fairy touch to it. She had planted a few extra flowers around it and facing the little lake was an add on of a patio. It would only be a little more walking and they would be at her front door. Once closer the cottage it was clear that it was in the traditional style and laying in the grass by the front door was her black lab Dia, who once catching thier scent jumped up and bounded toward. Inion noticed her and laughed a bit as she knew what was about to happen unless she managed to stop without knocking anyone down.

"Welcome to my home" she gestured toward the beauty of where she was living.

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Catrina "Cat" Masterson Wed Jul 27, 2011 3:37 am

Oh goody, I get to listen to him talk some more. The first thought that crossed Cat's mind when the man had told her that it was alright for her to join them. Well, he didn't use those exact words. His words sounded far more eloquent to her.

She had listened to what he had said about the Drow. "I had never known that there were Drow who did not follow Lolth. I didn't even know they had other God's and Goddess' to follow. But I have only ever met the ones who came to my ranch that day to see about acquiring my dragons." And when she said acquiring her dragons, she didn't mean just one or two. They wanted every one of them she had. And had no intention of paying for them.

She might seem a little ditzy and dingy sometimes, but there really was a brain in her head, and she loved to feed it and use it. So he was educating her, and she was keeping the information for possible future reference.

"And I would be happy to join you, thank you for the invitation." When they turned the slight curve in the path she saw the cottage, then she saw Dia. She smiled, feeling safe from the attack as she was walking to Inion's side, but was far enough from her that her friend would be able to see between them. He could have moved up between them, but would most likely have brushed their shoulders, if he so chose. That was the amount of space there was. So she didn't brace for impact from the little lab. Besides, she was used to Willow bounding towards her in the same way, and Willow was a whole lot bigger.

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Leo Fri Jul 29, 2011 1:03 pm

Drow had come to see about acquiring dragons? Lolthian drow? That they were even on the surface to do business of trade was different for him to hear however, just as people and things here were different, it was not too much of a surprise. So while he did give Cat a look of consideration he did smile as well. Though, at the same time, it made him curious to seek out these particular dark skinned.

The setting around the house was lovely, as well as the cottage itself, and Leo was enjoying the serenity of it all. He was not much a man for an abundance of flowers but, when put in the right way, they were not so much plants as they were an artistic design. To him it spoke of calm, a contrast to the happy dog who bounded to greet them when the door was opened.

With his good hand he reached down to give the animal a few strokes on the head. He remembered Dia from his time spent with Inion before, having seen him in her company. As his other hand was less than perfect at the moment, and he knew of the animals sense of smell, he did his best to keep that hand away, and therefore casually behind his back. Petting him helped to give him the extra moments that he needed to figure out what to say of his tale.

Leo would not take a seat - as he was not offered one and did not see that they were doing so. "It is that there is a certain rare sword yielded by the elite group of Eilistraee warriors that had gone, shall we say, missing, quiet some time ago." Is how he would start his words. Moving away from the dog and more towards the sitting area that he saw. "There are only twenty such of these swords in their existence so I am sure you can see why it is important to them, especially as the Eilistraee are less violent than their brethren." This was not to say that they were peaceful, only less violent.

"To have such an object returned? How can it not make a good deal." That would be where his words trailed off to an ending.

That was a good bit of information, was it not? Even with the holes and open ends for more information to be given, he did say that he returned something to those drow which they had lost and have been wanting returned.

Dia slowed her run and let Leo pet her, she seemed to know that it would be wrong to pounce at him. Once inside the cottage there was a spot where shoes were left Inion slipped out of her shoes and proceeded into the cottage more. "Please have a seat while I fix us some lunch." She gestured to a pair of bar stools sitting by a counter facing the kitchen area. She moved into the kitchen and began gathering things from cupboards and the fridge all the while listening to Leo's story. The inside of the cottage was both simple and cozy, very much like one would imgine Inion's home to look like. Items in the front room area were in red and black with splashes of white. Tulips decorated the room in color and photos where scattered about little bits of her life and travels. The main piece of art was a Greek style painting that hung on the wall above the television. That painting was her pride and joy as it was a painting of her family with her as the moon goddess and a handsome young man as the sun god. (detailed account of just what the painting is can be found in the ooc section ).

Since the day seemed warm Inion decided to make a simple lunch of chicken ceaser salad and fresh fruit to snack on. She looked at her guest, "what may I get you to drink, I have just about anything you fancy." She set out the fruit for them to snack on while she fixed up the salad.

As always she listened to everything going and when Leo talked about returning an artifact she nodded, "to have such a thing returned would be very valuable to those that have lost it." Once the salad was done she set it out in a bowl for each of them along with the requested drinks. A toss of a biscuit to Dia who had settled quietly nearby. "the only dealings I have had with the Drow have been through the confernces I was required to attend. I had no idea their was a group that had seperated themselves. Learn something new everyday."

Looking In Empty Re: Looking In

Post by Catrina "Cat" Masterson Tue Aug 09, 2011 2:39 am

Once Dia moved away from Inion and Leo, Cat took a moment to pet her and scratch her behind her ears. Once they were inside, Cat looked around with a smile. "You have a lovely home Inion." She had always wondered what the cottages looked like inside. And even if it wasn't her home, it was her home at the moment. And it had that warmth to it that you can only find in a home.

She took the offered seat with a smile."Bottled Water?" She didn't think soda or juice would sit right on her stomach in the middle of the day. She had heard what Leo had said about the Drow and their treasured sword. It made her smile. And she didn't miss the look Leo had given her when she had mentioned the Drow that had come to try and acquire her dragons.

She listened to what Inion had to say as well, as she was puttering around the kitchen. She smiled when Inion had mentioned learning something new everyday. Cat liked to learn new things too. So it was to her benefit that she had been headed out when Leo had arrived. Otherwise she would have missed out on such interesting information. She had to smile again.

When Inion had finished she thought to explain a little more of her encounter with the Drow. "The Drow that happened upon my ranch didn't seem to know much of Rhy'Din. I think they were from somewhere else. They looked rather malnourished. They were hassling my workers when I came out. They didn't want to talk to me because I was a woman." Which had irritated her.

She shook it off and continued her story. "But they talked to my foreman. We told them that we wouldn't just give them the dragons and sent them on their way. I think my foreman told them how they could get to where some other Drow could be found. We had thought that they would accept the help and move on. I wasn't sure what else to do." She wasn't sure why they wanted the dragons.

She took a deep breath before continuing. "I think they were pretty bad off at the time. But they came back that night and tried to steal the dragons. They started a huge fight for them with some of my ranch hands. That was when I found out that Venis and Lolth were enemies. I called Venis for help. I didn't know what else to do short of shooting at them with a shot gun." Of course.

Cat couldn't attest to what exactly Venis did to make the Drow leave the ranch. She herself had been busy tending to the wounded and making sure the dragons were safe. But for some reason, it didn't take Venis but ten or fifteen minutes to scare them off. It must have been one hell of a threat, or a very huge promise. Either way, Cat and her pindragons were grateful.

The time that it did take him to sit down, and the shifting of his hands afterwards, affordied him the much needed time to cover any look of shock or confusion that was on his face at hearing the tellings of Catrina. It was curiouser and curiouser to hear of her speak about the Drow she encountered. While he knew some of them under a different diety to be more welcoming towards males, he did not know of any who would choose a male to speak to over a female. Drow were a female dominate society. Very few men held respect and when it did, it was often at a high price.

Aside from his bot of story, he was not volunterring more on how he actually got what he had in his pocket. Fortunatly, as well, no one here was speaking a different tongue.

At the offer of a drink, Leo suddenly had wished that he had taken his cup with him or his herbal pouch. Sadly this was not the case. "A strong coffee, please." That would make up for the lack of his drink and he thought it was simple enough to have around. "No sugar."

He was more than willing to let Inion serve them as she would, it was a cultural thing. He did know that many men, here, helped out when it getting food ready, he was use to being served. It was hard to let go of life and cultural training and, though he was a gentelman and would help, she appeared to be doing fine on her own.

"Catrina, do you breed Dragons for purchase, or only have them for personal use?" Forif she was in the business of selling dragons. Yes, she did not sell to the Drow, but that did not mean she would not to others.

Sitting on the couch he reached into his pocket and pulled out what was inside: a a soft brown cloth folded over a few times to cover what was inside. This he placed by the food once Inion returned. "That, Inion, is for you."

It was nothing for Inion to serve her guests to her it was all part of being a good hostess. She had invited them so it seemed only normal for her to serve them unless she was having a party. She gave no thought that others would think it odd given her rank. Of course if you were a friend that might as well be part of the family she treated you like family

If Inion hastited picking up the offered gift, it didn't show. She picked up the cloth covered item and held it carefully in her hands slowly unwrapping to see what was inside. "Oh Leo very sweet of you to hunt me down and bring this all this way" she gave him a playfully smile when she mentioned being hunted. "You will spoil me if you keep this up" that was added with a wink.

In her mind she was trying to think of a way to ask Leo about his wounded hand and if he would let her treat it if she could. The healer in her hated to see people in pain and it was more so with people she cared about. Leo always seemed like the kind of man that would down play his pain and discomfort in frontof. He was also the type that would see through a normal trick to get him show her she just hated using a charm on him never seemed fair. Her plan of action was just to ask straight out.

The wrappings around the object where peeled away like petals from a flower and she held the object in her hand a look of surprise on her face. "Oh Leo it is beautiful I love it. Moonstone, it couldn't be more perfect." She picked it up and ran it through her fingers noting each of the stones. "Phases of the moon its amazing." She wanted to put it on right away but she still felt a bit sticky from her work out. Instead she held it in her hand to feel the power of the stones. She held it so that Cat was able to see it also. Leaning over a bit she gave Leo a kiss on the cheek. "you are going to spoil me."

It was a simple thing that was wrapped inside of the brown cloth. A moonstone, shaped in the form of a teardrop, contrasted greatly with it's milky white color to the cloth. The stone was held by four thin, silver braided strands that came together at the stones tip then branched out on either side. The braided cord was not that long, an obvious suit for a choker necklace or worn as a headdress. A ball of silver clasped it together at the ends.

The moonstone was not the only thing on the silver thread. Spaced out an even 1 1/2 inches from either side of the main stone were three others. Three to the left and three to the right. These were small pieces of moonstone and cut to represent the main phases of the moon - the middle one, the main piece, was to be the full moon and the ball in the back the new moon. Eight pieces in total hanging down from inch long silver braided strands.

The Drow Goddess Elistree was represented by the moon, so it only made since that he had something representative of it. This went without saying that Leo knew Inion had the moon as her own symbol.

Catrina smiled when the man asked her the question about her dragons. Partially because she loved to hear him speak, and partially because he was being polite enough to at least feign an interest in her affairs. "Oh yes, I do sell them. I sell them to those who have use of them, perhaps to aid in hunting or other such uses. And I also sell them as pets. Though it is the more docile ones that are sold as pets. One's that, through some happenstance of breeding, seem to not have the vigor or the aggression of the others. I wouldn't want someone to get hurt because their pet was too aggressive." She was still smiling at him, though perhaps with a renewed sparkle in her eyes as she loved to speak of her dragons.

She thought it rather sweet that he had brought Inion a gift. Especially something so beautiful. She didn't know much about the stones, or their purpose, but she thought it was lovely none the less. "It is quite lovely." She smiled again, something she evidently couldn't help doing today. She noticed the kiss to the cheek as well. It caused her to think about the reason she had left the ranch to come see her sister. She reflected on those thoughts but for a moment. It wasn't something she wished to dwell upon quite yet. And definitely not something she wanted to think on in such wonderful company.

Had Cat known of the handsome gentleman's confusion in regard to the Drow she had come across, she would completely understand. For once she had spoken to Venis, she two was perplexed by their refusal to speak with her, yet speak with her ranch foreman. Venis had explained to her that it was unusual for a Drow, no matter the deity they chose to worship, to pick a male over a female with which to speak. But Venis told her nothing more of what the problem was, and why they had come planning to relieve her of her dragons without exchange of currency or labor. Venis simply handled the situation and kept it to herself as to how.

Watching wordlessly as Inion opened up what he had presented her with. Seeing that there was food on display he was not going to let her work go un-eaten and therefore Leo helped himself, reaching over and taking a plate of salad. He did the action with both hands, making the quasi leather glove on his left hand visible.

Leo did not sit back on the couch as comfortably as he had been a moment ago due to not wanting to cause a spill, but he was fine all the same. Head was nodded to Catrina as he did hear what she said about the particular animal trade. "It is that I may know a person who would be interested in having a dragon. I will give them your name." This he would do in indeed. There was never any harm in passing information around, she did say that they were for sale.

A bite or two was taken of the salad as he watched, the leather clad hand was under the plate, holding it up. The man seemed to be okay, but it was when Inion would give him the kiss on the cheek as a thank you that she would have felt the tingles of pain that were in his body. To look at him it would not be know: a smile on his face and the glint of a twinkle due to the kiss told of well appearance.

"You have fed me and have welcomed me into your home, it may be that I am saying thank you for the hospitality and advice from before."

Inion set the necklace back down in the wrapping then set everything on the table. She watched as Leo picked up a plate and a frown creased her brow. She had felt the tickles of pain from him when she kissed his cheek. That kiss was not only to say thank you, it was a tricky way she could judge his pain. "Will you let me look at your wound? I would feel amiss if I didn't see if I could offer you some help with helping it heal and ease the pain." Since Inion could talk and walk she was taught to be a healer. She even went to human schools as grew older to learn. Give all that some would think it odd that she was still a warrior but that was the way life was like for her.

Catrina was adding the dressing to her salad when the man spoke that he would pass her name along."I thank you very much. That is most kind of you." It made her smile as she took a bite. She spoke nothing of the wound, if he and Inion were going to deal with it, she would mind her own business. Instead, she chose to remain quiet and partake of the offered refreshments while they went about what they were going to.
