Resting and Relaxing Empty Resting and Relaxing

Post by Guest Tue Oct 05, 2010 3:37 pm

Sasha had been doing a lot of resting and relaxing lately and figured it was time to get out and see some more of the inn. Her recent experience with that lead to her shaking her head and thinking she had better just stay in her room but decided to give it another try. Azsmyth was out on his hunting expeditions that he so likes to go on from time to time. She didn't worry that he would get lost because some how no matter where they went he always knew how to get back to her when she needed him the most.

Moving down the stairs she made her way to the lounge with a book and settled into a chair to get in some good quality time with her thoughts and reading. However, if someone came in and spoke she would be up for that too. Once she got settled she opened the book to where she left off and began to read it and see where her thoughts would take her today.

Francois was coming down the stairs when he picked up on a very strong pulse. It was closer than the bar area, so he began to look about the other area's upon the ground floor of the Inn. When he looked into the Lounge area, he saw the young woman sitting within a chair, reading.

He was mindful of the rules for hunting upon the Inn property, but this woman's scent was quite alluring. He closed his eyes and took a moment to breathe her in. She was intoxicating. He moved in closer. He wanted to know more about this magnificent creature. After all, some people were willing participants when it came to quenching the hunger of a vampire. Even if they only allow for small snacks.

He had his doubts when it came to this wondrous being, but he would attempt to strike up a conversation and test the waters as it were. After all, if she did not wish to come to him willingly, he could always return to his original plan of going out to hunt for the evening.

So with that in mind, he spoke. He chose English because it seemed to be the language of the region.
"'Ello. Am I disturbing you?" His accent was thick, and his words might have sounded wrong to her ears, but at least he was willing to attempt the language.

Resting and Relaxing Empty Re: Resting and Relaxing

Post by Guest Mon Oct 11, 2010 3:33 pm

Sasha jumped a bit as she was engrossed in her book and her thoughts. She didn't even hear him come in to the room. Not thinking anything of it really she gave the man a smile and was able to catch what he was saying even though his accent was thick.

+It's no bother at all, please have a seat. It's nice to have company sometimes.+

She canted her head a bit and exposed her neck but by no means was that an invitation she wasn't aware of what he was. Being the polite one she was she extended her hand to him introducing herself.

+I'm Sasha.+

Resting and Relaxing Empty Re: Resting and Relaxing

Francois entered the room further upon invitation. Movement was made towards an empty seat. He was off to the side of her, not across from her or beside her as those would be intimate possitions. He was in front of her, yet off to the side slightly. Before he sat upon the empty seat he made a sweeping formal bow to the lady. "My name is Francois. It is my pleasure to make your aquaintance dame Sasha." The seat was taken, with a sweeping of the tails from his jacket so as not to sit upon them, once the introduction was complete.

The seat was more cushioned than Francois was used to. So it took him a moment of adjustment to find a comfortable way to sit. In the end, he found himself resting against the side of the chair, with one arm upon the arm of the chair. He had his leg crossed over the other so that he was angled to face her. His other hand rested upon his lap. He leaned slightly forward towards her to make it easier to carry on a conversation.

He chose to begin the conversation with an inquiry. "Might I inquire as to what you are reading?" His thick accent might have made it harder for her to understand him, but he had practiced English for a long time. So he hoped he had it right.

Her smile faded into curiosity as he took the seat. Something in her warned her to keep her distance but she was intrigued her all the same. There was no immediate reason for her to not want company of Francois. Tucking her feet under her a little she looked down at the book for a moment and placed the book mark in it rather than her finger holding its place.

+Pleasure to meet you as well.+

Hearing his question she showed the front cover as she spoke.

+It's called Daughter of the Blood. Rather interesting story+

A slight smile crept on her lips as she laid the book back on her lips recalling the section of the book she was in and what it dealt with. It all made her wonder if things from this book could be true which she was sure was likely given where she now lived.

Let it be said that Francois was a very well read man. What else did he have to do with his time, of which he had more than plenty? He smiled as he heard her tell the name of her book. "Ahh, yes. First book of the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop. A good writer I dare say. Did you know that The Invisible Ring was a prequil of sorts, to the Daughter of the Blood?" He smiled at her, showing no hint of fang. He was pleased that he would be able to converse with her about something. Though it had been a very long time since he had read the books. But he always wanted to hear how others interprited books. It was always interesting to him. Sometimes, more interesting than the books themselves.

((Sorry about being away for so long, and for such a short post. We have had some health issues within the family. It seemed that just as one child was getting well, another was getting sick. We have 4, and they couldn't seem to all get sick at once and get it over with.))

She looked at him curiously not knowing others have read the works as well. Sasha made a mental note to check out the book he mentioned.

+I didn't know that but I will be sure to read it soon. What types of books do you enjoy reading?+

She was genuinely curious and marked her place in her book and watched him carefully.

(Sorry as well, life is catching up to me and demanding more of my time than usual. Hope all is well with your family.)

Francois thought about her question for a moment. His hand went to his face where he cupped his chin in between his fingers and his thumb. "Well, I am a fan of what Earth calls the 'horror' genre. I love that 20th century author Stephen King. He is magnificent in his detailing and description." He had read almost everything that the King had written.

His hand moved back to it's previous position of rest. "And you? What are your favorite?" Just because she was reading a certain book did not necessarily mean it was her favorite genre.

She listened and nodded in all the right spots, not that she wasn't disinterested but because it was more habit with how people were when her family was on Earth. It was quite possibly a habit that needed to be broken but that thought was for another time. She knew instantly what her favorite genre was and almost blurted it out.

+I love vampire novels and love stories. I feel connected to them some how.+

She gave a little shrug and got lost in thought for a moment. About that time Azsmyth gave a low growl toward Sasha's new found friend. He seemed irritated as he moved between the two of them. Azsmyth was making an educated guess as to what this friend wanted from his charge. Sasha laid her hand on him to reassure him that she was fine but it wasn't helping. However, so as long as this friend of hers stayed put and didn't try anything funny Azsmyth wouldn't be forced to do something about this discussion.

Francois could not help but notice the large feline as it growled softly at him. He smiled to the cat with closed lips. He then looked back to Sacha. "I too have the occasion to enjoy a good vampire novel. Though I have to admit that I find some to be rather amusing. For example, that Twilight series. When I read that the vampires, what is the word? Sparkled? Oui, sparkled in the sunlight. I found that most ridicule ... Er, that is, laughable." He even gave a light chuckle when he thought about it.

Shaking off the chuckle he looked back to her. "Have you read? It has the most endrearing of romance stories within it. I think my wife might have enjoyed that part more than I though." He smiled at the thought of his wife. Thinking of her always made him smile.

She laughed a little at the thought and shook her head, she was not a fan of the sparkly vampires. Although he was right the love story in it was very good and even made her wonder what that type of love would be like. She shook her head a bit trying to get her mind out of those thoughts. Speaking up she smiled as she petted Azsmyth trying to calm him.

+I read them once and it was a good love story but I agree the sparkly vampires are pretty ridiculous like you said. Women usually do enjoy love stories more than men do anyway.+

She let that trail as she did not mean it as an insult or anything like that just stating a fact at least to her it was a fact.

With a watchful eye upon the cat, Francois continued the conversation. "Have you read any of the Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton? She is a very good writer. There is a lot of death and violence in her books, and a lot of other adult activities as well." He gave a half chuckle at the though, and a smile even played at the corners of his lips.

Right hand went to his chin. He rubbed for a moment.
"Come to think of it, I have numbers one through twenty of the series in a trunk. I had them with me because I would rather read or sleep while traveling. You are welcome to borrow any of them you wish." He left out the part where he thought that one of the books had so much sex in it that it overshadowed the violence. And the violence was why he read them. But it was like soft core porn. Incubus Dreams was the title of that particular one.

He smiled.
"The author also writes another series, though I have yet to pick one of them up. The main character is a fairy I believe. Her name is Merry Gentry if memory serves. And I think she moves to a place on Earth, in the Unites States, called Los Angeles. Perhaps we could both read them and compare notes some time. Like a ... Oh, what do they call it? A Book club?" He had heard the term used once or twice, but never in these parts. So he wasn't sure she would know what he had meant.

Resting and Relaxing Empty Re: Resting and Relaxing

Azsymth's blue orbs would follow this creature closely. He knew that smell. The smell of death. His ears flattening and tail fluffing. That low growl, rumbling through him as he let Sasha know something was off. More than this man's accent. He sat up, and stayed right by Sasha. Watching and waiting to see if he was needed.

Sasha took note of Azsmyth's demeanor and did what she could to quiet him down but had a feeling as long as she was talking to Francois he wasn't going to settle down. She nodded and took a mental note about the books and authors. She enjoyed reading as much as she loved to travel.

+I will have to see about finding those books sometime. I would take you up on borrowing them but I don't read all that fast and I don't want to take them out of your possession for long. But thank you for the offer.+

She paused there for a moment letting her hand go over Azsmyth's head a few times wishing she could understand what his reaction was all about. She gave a light smile to Francois before continuing.

+I think a book club would be a great idea. Usually it's just me reading and not being able to talk to anyone about them.+

She gave a little bit of a laugh as she thought more about that idea and thinking of how much fun it would be.

Resting and Relaxing Empty Re: Resting and Relaxing

Post by Francois Davignon Sat Dec 17, 2011 4:38 am

With eyes still upon the cat, the ends of Francois' crimson shaded lips dipped down into a frown. "I fear your friend has issues with trusting me. I assure you both that I have been well informed of the rules of this realm. You are perfectly safe in my presence." He felt that perhaps his reassurance would be lost upon the large feline. Something told him that he would still not be trusted.

Slow movements brought Francois to a standing position.
"I reside upon the top floor. You may find me there if you desire a book or simply some conversation. I bid the well, but I believe I will take my leave of your pleasurable presence at this time so your friend might be able to calm. Blessed day dame Sasha." A slight bow at the waist was offered in lieu of a kiss to her hand.

Francois smiled politely as he left the room. He hoped that Sasha's friend felt better now that he was gone. He would hate for the cat to upset her with his worry for her safety. But there was another reason for Francois to leave the lady's presence. He had come down to meet with his beloved wife. They were to go out and hunt. He had yet to feed. Though he was fine in the presence of humans, it was not something that lasted for extremely long periods of time. So it was time for him to find his wife and go have someone to eat.

(My apologies for taking forever and a day to get to this. I look forward to playing with you again sometime in the future. I hope we do find a chance.)
